East Cape Waterfront Accommodation situated just east of Te Kaha on a stunning stretch of pristine coastline midway between Hicks Bay and Opotiki - scenic Pacific Coast State Highway 35, East Cape, North Island, New Zealand.


Aside from the self-contained two bedroom holiday house (Snapper Bach), our boutique style accommodation also offers a private upstairs self-contained studio/suite. . En-suite bathroom, Queen bed, SkyTV, fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities, kitchen sink, dining ware, microwave & if necessary use of the host kitchen oven just across the courtyard downstairs.. Barbecue available. This beautiful studio with large landscape windows, has a private separate entrance and stands slightly apart from the Host Residence though close enough to ensure you feel like a welcome guest in our home. Stunning sea views to the marine volcano 'White Island' both from within & from a small private balcony complete with table & chairs. To the sound of waves & bird song only, this delightful accommodation is perfectly attuned to those looking forward to a peaceful & tranquil holiday.


Overlooking the waves, Waterfront Waikawa is dreamily nestled within lush landscaped grounds and gardens extending almost to the edge of rugged sea cliffs - the margin punctuated perfectly by ancient gnarled coastal Pohutukawa. Breath-taking ocean views & sunsets across to the active volcano - White Island. With minimal extraneous noise (apart from the odd helicopter), neighbours or other distraction, we can confidently welcome all guests to an environment of delightful comfort, natural beauty and waters edge tranquility.


Direct private access down cliff-side steps to an enchanting pebble beach & rocky bay. Dive the reef for succulent lobster, enjoy an early morning paddle in one of our two kayaks or row out the dinghy and catch a snapper for supper. Remember, some of the best fishing and diving in New Zealand is right at our doorstep. Nearby activities might include an exhilarating jet boat ride on the mighty Motu River, a visit to the nearby macadamia nut orchard & garden cafe, bush walk to a serenely beautiful waterfall (of spiritual significance to local Maori), river or beach swimming, horse treking, or perhaps a guided tour to learn about local Maori history and culture. Charter-boat fishing can also be arranged. Local amenities (5 mins drive or so) include a licensed restaurant/bar, cafe, takeaways & groceries.
