We are centrally located between Rotorua & Taupo. 5 km to Lake Ohakuri with 3 boat ramp access, picnic area, BBQ & toilets. 2 kayaks available (no charge, require tow bar).
25 minutes to Rotorua, 40 minutes to Taupo. 2 hours to Mount Ruapehu.
Only 15 minutes to Waikite Valley thermal hot pools and cafe.
Experience farm life watching the cows get milked or use our map to stroll over the farm. Climb the hill across the road & on a fine day see all the natural beauty Ngakuru & Waikite Valley have to offer.
Spring time (August/September/October) provides great memories for children as they can see up close calves being fed, you may even get to see a cow calve! (We can`t promise this)
Visit our sow Annie & her piglets, (age of piglets varies)
Cain the farm dog loves attention and lots of pats.
Pebbles the Pet goat will often accompany you on farm walks.
Feed Bruce the rooster and his 2 female companions,
Salt & Pepper with chicken pellets from your hand.
Young children can climb up and sit in our 135hp tractor.
Macartney Farm (1 km from Tuck Inn) is another great spot to visit. Try hand milking a goat, feed a lamb or kid goat, collect eggs from her chickens, see pet frogs and a pet rabbit. Pat her very friendly sheep.
Then once you’ve finished your adventures on that cold winter or spring day, a log fire awaits you at Tuck Inn. While soaking in the warmth of the fire in the evening you can plan your next days activities by browsing over our impressive selection of pamflets of Rotorua & Taupo tourist attractions and dining out, or zip down to Waikite Valley Thermal Hot Springs for a bathe in one of their many relaxing pools, enjoy a meal in their cafe` and even take a stroll through their native bush.
Enjoy our fresh drinking water from deep well (120 metres deep) for drinking and washing at Tuck Inn.
