Welcome to tranquil, quality budget accommodation. The people who visit our backpackers hostel come away with the knowledge that they are helping to protect the natural beauty of the Marlborough Sounds.

You are part of an experiment: can people, tourism and the environment live in harmony? Yes!...which is why all contributions received from backpackers are channelled towards the protection, conservation and restoration of our native flora and fauna. Should the solution be worse than the problem? No...poisons such as 1080 have no place in our ecosystem. Help the birds sing again.



Te Mahoerangi Eco Lodge is situated on the shores of Nydia Bay, a quiet corner of the Marlborough Sounds. We are half way along the 2 day Department of Conservation maintained `Nydia Track`.
We are boat or walking access only.
We offer accommodation for trampers on the track and to those who wish to stay a few days relaxing.
There are walks within the bay, and Kayaks for hire. There are spots to swim and shady decks or gardens to relax with a book.
