Although purpose built early 2000 as an Art Gallery/ Studio at Homewood Hill, a small lifestyle farm, what is now the Artists Retreat had an olde world feel from the beginning. Built to resemble an early colonial wooden church and using recycled materials where possible, the building had character and a great feeling straight away.In Dec. 2008, we moved the gallery/studio to another "old" building on our property and this little "old" building started a new life. We offer good, clean affordable holiday accommodation with stunning views,peace & privacy.
Perched on a hill top, a few minutes north of Kaikoura,the Artists Retreat is just off, but easily accessible from the main highway in a rural setting with never ending views. These stunning views over farmlands from the mountains to the sea will take your breath away. Wake up to bird song, including Tuis and Bellbirds, and the distant sound of the ocean.Whilst only a few minutes north of Kaikoura, The Artists Retreat is private and peaceful. Ideal for 1 or 2 couples travelling together or a family.

We have farm animal pets that have quirky personalities and love to be patted, scratched and hand fed.

Availability:
The Artists Retreat is available all year round. It is ideal for 1 or 2 couples,a family or friends travelling together. $145 per night for a couple. Each additional person $20 per night.
NOTE: MINIMUM 2 NIGHT STAYS.
We give Hislop`s Cafe coffee vouchers with all bookings.
BOOKING REQUIREMENT.
In order to confirm your booking we require a credit card number with valid expiry date.
CANCELLATION POLICY.
FAILURE TO ARRIVE, OR SHOULD CANCELLATION BE RECEIVED WITHIN 48 HOURS PRIOR TO STAY AND THE BOOKING CANNOT BE REPLACED, FULL TARIFF WILL BE CHARGED.
