Waiau Motor Camp and Backpackers is located on the Alpine Pacific Scenic Highway just 30 minutes from "Hanmer Springs Thermal Resort", 15 minutes to Mt Lyford Ski Field and 1 hours drive to Kaikoura in the South Island of New Zealand.
Waiau Motor Camp is a family & pet friendly camp with a range of wheelchair accessible accommodation options that include 12 rooms which sleep 2 to 4 people, 16 powered sites & 30 non powered sites. Three of the rooms are double bedrooms with an internal door to the adjoining bunk room. Communial kitchen (with fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and all other normal kitchenware), TV & dining room. 3 seperate men & womans bathrooms. Children`s playground, coin operated laundry, BBQ`s, dump station & water supply. Internet wireless connection via the Zenbu network
Waiau is a small friendly country town located between Hamner & Kaikoura on the Alpine Scenic Highway 70. There is a supermarket, 2 garages, Hotel / Lodge, seasonable out door swimming pool. Rivers for fishing, swimming, jet-boating. Near to Mt Lyford ski-field & ice skating, Amuri golf course, horse trekking

The double rooms are equipped with made up double bed, couches including linen. Also complete with fridge and tea coffee making facilities. All the double bedrooms have internal doors to the adjoining bunk room.
BUNK ROOMS
We have 9 Bunk Rooms available at the Waiau Motor Camp.
Bunk rooms are each equipped with a set of bunks including all linen.
