Absolute beach front luxury home at the gateway to New Zealand’s famous Bay of Islands. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms sleep up to 13 guests.
Unobstructed beach and bay views with an endless procession of passing boats and romantic sunsets. Direct access to a safe, sandy all tide swimming beach with no road or dunes to cross. Tapeka is just two minutes from historic Russell with island boat tours, fishing charters, attractions, shops, vineyard, bars and restaurants. Only three hours drive from Auckland via the Opua car ferry.
The outdoor living and entertaining area is superb with a large furnished deck and BBQ. A covered verandah surrounds the house with direct access from bedrooms and living area. Three kayaks and a dinghy or swim to the diving pontoon in front. Trampoline and beach toys for the kids.
All linen and towels are supplied with beds made ready to walk in and enjoy. The Master bedroom is on a secluded wing of the house with king size bed, ensuite bathroom, LCD TV and sea views. Bedroom 2 - Qu and Sgl with sea views, Bedroom 3 - Qu and Sgl. Directly behind the house at the same level is a large fourth bedroom / games room. This contains a king bed and three singles, two of which can be placed together to create another double. This room is popular with children and families. Two portacots, high chair, bath, stroller and swing are available for infants.
The mature grounds have ample off street parking and boat trailer turning with a good all tide boat ramp, ski lane and deep water mooring for guest use. Fish filleting station for the days catch, beer fridge and bait freezer. Tapeka is the closest launching point to the Bay and renowned fishing location.
Fully equipped granite kitchen includes ice maker, dish drawer dishwashers, thermo bake oven, gas hobs, microwave, toaster, bodums, utensils, serving dishes etc. Laundry with washer and dryer.
Entertainment includes a Bose home theatre, HD wide screen TV, Sky Sat TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, iPod dock and outdoor deck speakers. A LCD TV, DVD and MP3 stereo is provided in the large rear bedroom. Telephone and free high speed wireless Internet access.
The inside living area has a high ceiling, comfy leather sofas and a nautical theme with a Cape Cod feel. Panoramic sea and beach views extend through floor level windows and ranch sliders to the deck. Books, magazines, games and DVD library.

“It`s all about "Location, Location, Location" and Tapeka del Mar perfectly satisfies all three criteria: almost certainly the ultimate place in New Zealand to watch the sun sink below the horizon as the wine in your glass inexplicably disappears and the kids continue to have the best days of their lives on the safe sandy beach literally at the bottom of the garden. A weekend or week`s stay is inadequate - a decade would be preferable. We had an absolute ball and will do our utmost to repeat it when next we can assemble the immediate family under Tapeka del Mar`s roof. Especial thanks are due to Clive, the owner, whose personal touch included a lengthy courtesy call to ensure that we`d arrived OK, that all was well and that there were no problems or queries whatsoever: he genuinely cared and that`s refreshingly rare. I unreservedly recommend Tapeka del Mar to anyone wishing to sample idyllic beach-side living in New Zealand at it`s best. This family scores Tapeka at a perfect 10/10”
